OCTOBER 2008

1.  OBSERVATIONS:
  In order to accomodate parents and other viewers, I have added an extra window in the upstairs observation area.  However, lately we have been encountering some problems.  I ask that you please keep your voices down while classes are in session.  This can get very distracting to our students and we are always trying to promote a healthy learning environment.  No one is permitted to view the classes from inside the studio.  There are two designated observation areas; inside the studio is not one of them.  Please respect the quiet zone and your dancers.  Thank you. 

2.  HALLOWEEN CLASSES
All classes held on Friday, October 31st will be cancelled due to Halloween.  

3. NEW ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT!
I would like to welcome Sylvie Kay on board.  She will be the new administrative assistant.  Sylvie will be responsible for many tasks, so please welcome her with open arms.  She will be great help.  

4.  Costume Deposits
We have sent a letter home with all students explaining that costume deposits are due before November 1st.  Costume deposits are $60.00 per class.  If you do not submitt this costume deposit, we will not be able to order a costume for your child.  Please be punctual with payments.  Thank you.

5.  YEAR-END SHOW!!
Book your calendars now because the year-end show will be held on Friday, May 22nd, Saturday May 23rd and Sunday, May 24th 2009.  The Friday and Saturday performance will be held at 7:00pm and the Sunday show will be held at 2:00pm.  We are trying something new this year by having 3 performances on 3 different days rather than having 2 performances on Saturday and 1 on Sunday.   Please note that the show is NOT held on the May-Long Weekend (it is held the weekend after May Run).  

6. Costume Measurements
Costume measurements will be held the week of November 10th 2008.  Please make an effort to be at class during that week.

7.  MKDA Promotional Wear!
The Melissa Kelly Dance Academy is offering promotional wear to all dancers.  We have t-shirts, cut off t-shirts, sweatpants, pull-over hoodies and zip-up hoodies for sale.  Your last chance to purchase promo wear is going to be Monday, November 10th from 5:00-8:00pm in studio B.
