Thank you! 2. 2010-2011 Season: As of September 2010, we plan on reducing the amount of paper that we use for Newsletters or for other annoucements. We are turning GREEN to be more environmentally friendly. We will be asking for everyone's email address and that is how we will be communicating any news or events that will be happenning at MKDA. Most papers that are given in class end up by staying in dancer's bags and parents often times do not see these important papers until many months later. The ''MKDA E-Newsletters'' will prevent any miscommunication and the message will go directly to the parents or adult dancers. 3. 2010-2011 DANCE SCHEDULE! NOW POSTED! **Please note changes to Elementary Ballet & Jazz 3** 4. NEW SECRETARY!! We would like to give a warm welcome to Melissa Hall who will be our new secretary this year. If you have any bill inquiries or general info inquiries, she will be able to assist you. Melissa Hall will also be staying on as a teacher. Thank you Mrs. Hall! CALENDAR OF EVENTS 2010-2011 1. First day of class: Monday, September 13th 2010 2. THANKSGIVING: Studio will be closed from Friday, October 8th to Monday, October 11th. Classes will resume on Tuesday, October 12th 2010. 3. Canada's National Ballet School / Master Classes & Audition Tour 2010-2011 NBS will be coming to MKDA to teach Master Classes on Sunday, November 6th. All ballet students are welcome & encouraged to attend. Age categories will be given at a later date. 4. BRING-A-FRIEND WEEK!! This is your chance to bring a friend to dance class! We encourage everyone to participate because all proceeds will go to the Canadian Cancer Society. The cost is $5.00 per friend. Bring a friend for an exciting class the week of December 6th to 10th. This is a great way of ending Term 1. 5. CHILDREN'S CHRISTMAS PARTY!! On Saturday, December 11th, we will have a Christmas party that will mark the end of Term 1. This Christmas party is held for all students dancing on Saturdays. We will dance, sing, eat and have a surprise for all dancers. Students are to attend with their usual ballet attire. A detailed schedule will be provided at a later date. 6. END OF TERM 1 Last class is Saturday, December 11th 2010 7. START OF TERM 2 First class will be held on Monday, January 17th 2011 8. FAMILY DAY HOLIDAY The studio will be closed on Monday, February 21st 9. MARCH BREAK The studio will be closed from Friday, March 11th to Saturday, March 19th. Classes will resume on Monday, March 21st 2011. 10. EASTER The studio will be closed from Friday, April 22nd (Good Friday) to Monday, April 25th (Easter Monday). Classes will resume on Tuesday, April 26th 2011. 11. TICKET SALE FOR RECITAL First day of ticket sale will be held on Saturday, May 14th from 9:00am to 2:00pm in Studio B. The first day of ticket sale is reserved for families only. Tickets will be open to the public on Sunday, May 15th from 10:00am to 1:00pm. 12. MAY LONG WEEKEND The studio will be closed from Friday, May 20th to Monday, May 23rd. Classes will resume on Tuesday, May 24th 2011. 13. DRESS REHEARSALS Will be held on Monday, May 30th and Thursday, June 2nd 2011. A detailed schedule will be provided at a later date. 14. RECITAL 2011!!!! Year-end performances will be held on the following days & times: Friday, June 3rd at 7:00pm Saturday, June 4th at 1:00pm Saturday, June 4th at 7:00pm Sunday, June 5th at 1:00pm **Not all students will participate in all 4 performances.
